Axis Architects was commissioned to design an interior remodel for the Continental Bank at the Gateway Tower West in Salt Lake City.  The owners wanted a modern and simple space. The old space was very dark and traditional. Axis transformed the existing space to exude simplicity, clarity and refinement. The glass walls allow for the natural light to flood the building.

The new office space for Continental Bank, located in Gateway Tower West in downtown Salt Lake City. The client wanted to update their corporate image as well as create a dynamic space for their employees. Axis Architects designed a modern space focused on daylighting, using a bright material palette to achieve the project’s goals.

 

The lobby features linear wood slat ceilings that warm up the space and allow integrated lighting in the board room, elevator lobby, and reception areas. The large angled wood cloud splits the board room and the reception area to help invite in potential clients from the elevator lobby. Floor-to-ceiling glazing in the office areas allows daylight and views to filter into the adjacent spaces. The ebonized wood reception desk helps create a contrast to the backlit glazing, which helps redefine the corporate image.
