Mosquito Abatement Hangar
Ogden, Utah
This new hangar located at the Ogden-Hinckley Airport in Ogden, UT will house materials and aircraft used in the mosquito abatement process. Program elements include the capacity to enclose two spray aircraft as well as a pilots lounge, offices, and pesticide storage areas.
Containment of the pesticide chemicals is an integral fact to the design. A hybrid structure composed of rated CMU and steel structure is used to accomplish the containment requirements while allowing for open space required for aircraft hangars. The use of translucent wall material will allow for natural daylighting and reduce energy costs for the client.
