New Autoclave Facility

 

 

The new autoclave facility at the ATK Launch Systems Complex in Promontory, Utah will contain and provide support for a large autoclave used for the production and drying of solid rocket nozzles. Complex rerouting of existing utilities as well as the integration of different systems including overhead cranes, rail systems, and truck loading presented design challenges. The solution was

found in a phased construction that allows the autoclave to be operational as soon as possible while the non-integral support functions are constructed later.
